Terms of Use

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING TERMS OF USE AND DISCLAIMER CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THIS WEBSITE ("this site").

By using this site, you agree to these terms of use. If you do not agree with these terms, you may not use this site. The San Diego Section of the Amateur Radio Emergency Service® (also known as San Diego ARES) reserves the right, at any time, to modify, alter, or update these Terms of Use, and you agree to be bound by such modifications, alterations, or updates.

Copyright

All site design, text, graphics, interfaces, and the selection and arrangements thereof are ©2016 San Diego and Chris Higgins (Webmaster) - all rights reserved or were used with permission of the respective owners. Any use of materials on this site, including reproduction for purposes other than those noted above, modification, distribution, or republication, without written permission of San Diego ARES or Chris Higgins is strictly prohibited.

The rights to use of the database software and interfaces, scripting, and structures ("G2") has been licensed to San Diego ARES by Chris Higgins along with all of its customizations specifically for use on this website.

Photos used on this site are used with permission (where possible). In the event that a photo is from an unknown source, it is marked as unknown but with a request to contact the Webmaster with further details. If the owner / photographer becomes known, permission will be requested. If permission is denied, the photograph will be removed immediately. San Diego ARES respects a photographer's rights to recognition for their work and strives to properly credit all artistic work where possible.

Purpose of This Site

This site is primarily intended for use by San Diego ARES members and guests interested in emergency amateur radio communications and to inform members of past and upcoming events.

Links

San Diego ARES offers links and link reciprocation to other organizations and businesses deemed appropriate and useful to its members. To be considered for a link, please send e-mail to the Webmaster with all pertinent information. The Webmaster will review all submissions to assure that the recommended site is appropriate, useful information to San Diego ARES members, and/or contains useful information to emergency amateur radio communications and amateur radio communications in general. Priority is given to sites with emergency amateur radio communications and related materials due to our organization's primary goals in supporting these activities in the San Diego and Imperial County, CA region.

These links are to sites on the Internet that are owned and operated by third party vendors and other third parties (the "external sites"). You acknowledge that San Diego ARES is not responsible for the availability of, or the content located on or through, any external site. You should contact the site administrator or Webmaster for those external sites if you have any concerns regarding such links or the content located on such external sites. You should also notify the San Diego ARES Webmaster about any concerns regarding an external site so a review can be done to determine if the site should remain as a link from this site.

Links to sites not related to the a topic closely related to the subjects previously listed will be automatically rejected as SPAM. Links MUST be from a website that is primarily related to these subjects. For example: a link to an amateur radio related page on a website for a widget manufacturer WILL NOT be added even if it was done as a class project. For items like school projects, consider using Wordpress or other similar free site to post rather than a page of the company website.

Our target audience is not typical First Responders (fire, police, military). Our members and visitors support emergency radio communications and the technologies involved in radio communications. Links outside of this scope are typically not appropriate for this venue and will be rejected.

Limitation on Liability

In no event shall San Diego ARES or the Webmaster be liable for any direct, indirect, special, punitive, incidental, exemplary or consequential damages, or any damages whatsoever, even if the aforementioned parties have been previously advised of the possibility of such damages, whether in an action under contract, negligence, or any other theory, arising out of or in connection with the use, inability to use, or performance of the information, services, products, and materials available from this site. These limitations shall apply notwithstanding to any failure of essential purpose of any limited remedy. Because some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion or limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, the above limitations may not apply to you.

Site Content

The Webmaster retains final editorial control over content of the site - including but not limited to photos, articles, or blogs - deemed inappropriate for the site. We do not, however, make this determination based on age, gender, race, or orientation.

Questions

Questions regarding our Terms of Usage, Privacy Policy, or other policy related material can be directed to our Webmaster via email.
